Description
The Two Rollers Hydraulic Thread Rolling Machine uses two rolling dies arranged symmetrically around the workpiece. Because the blank is squeezed from both sides at once, the forming force balances out at the centre of the work - the part does not get pushed sideways, and the thread profile comes out uniform around the circumference. For cylindrical work in steel, aluminium and brass, that symmetry is what makes a two-roller machine simpler to set and more predictable in production than a single-die arrangement.
On a hydraulic two-roller machine, the part of the design that decides whether the machine is still reliable in year three is the return mechanism. Older machines used a φ39 mm sprung return rod. Under heavy or prolonged duty that rod was the weak point: it was prone to breaking, and when it broke during a rolling cycle the stored energy in the tool could send parts or fragments outwards - a genuine hazard to anyone standing near the machine.
Main advantages:
This machine replaces it with an φ80 mm double-acting hydraulic cylinder piston rod, driven by hydraulic pressure in both directions rather than by a spring. The return stroke is positive and controlled, not stored energy waiting to release. The failure mode is designed out rather than managed, and the operator working at the machine is no longer the thing standing between a broken rod and an injury.
Left-hand and right-hand threads can be produced with one machine head, and the hydraulic circuit is hydraulically controlled in both directions, so cycle behaviour remains consistent as oil temperature changes through the shift.

Applications
Thread rolling on steel, aluminium and brass workpieces in general engineering; production lines where the machine runs continuously and return-mechanism reliability directly affects uptime; shops that need both left-hand and right-hand threads from one machine; facilities with workplace-safety requirements around stored-energy equipment.

FAQ
Q: What is the advantage of two rolling dies over other configurations?
A: Two dies apply pressure symmetrically, so the forming force balances at the workpiece centre. The part is not pushed to one side, thread profile is more uniform around the circumference, and setup is simpler.
Q: Why was the return rod changed from a spring design to a hydraulic cylinder?
A: A sprung φ39 mm return rod was prone to breakage under heavy or prolonged duty, and a break during the rolling cycle created a safety hazard for the operator. The φ80 mm double-acting hydraulic piston rod returns the tool under hydraulic control in both directions, which removes that failure mode.
Q: Which materials can it roll?
A: Steel, aluminium and brass as standard. Confirm the specific grade and hardness at quotation.
Q: Does it need a special foundation?
A: At 2100 kg it needs a level, adequately rigid floor. [Confirm foundation requirement with Engineering.]
